Frequently asked questions
What you ask us most before booking.
Do I need a boating licence?
It depends on the boat. The no-licence boats can be driven by anyone: we run you through the controls on the pontoon and off you go. La Pepa and Alma Libre need a boating licence or a Titulín, and if you do not have one you can hire a skipper. The Scanner Envy and the llaüt always go out with a captain or crew.
I have no licence but I want La Pepa or Alma Libre. Can I?
Yes, by hiring a skipper. And if you do have a licence and want to helm it yourself, we ask you for a photo of the licence, one of your ID or passport, and the number of people on board. We check it in under 24 hours and, if it turns out not to be valid, we offer you a skipper so you do not lose the trip.
Is fuel included?
On the no-licence boats, yes, it is included in the price. On La Pepa and Alma Libre it is not. On the Scanner Envy it is paid according to actual consumption.
How much is the security deposit?
Between 300 and 500 euros depending on the boat. You hand it over on the day of departure and get it back on your return, once we have checked that the boat and its equipment are as they were handed over.
How do I pay?
You pay a 50 euro booking deposit that holds the trip, and the rest on the day of departure. The booking deposit is paid on the website by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or Klarna.
Is the booking confirmed as soon as I pay?
Not automatically. Paying the deposit means accepting the terms, but the booking is confirmed when we confirm it to you in writing. We usually do that in under 24 hours.
What if I want to go out tomorrow or the day after?
For dates less than 48 hours away we do not charge online, because there is not enough time to confirm with any certainty. Message us on WhatsApp and we will look at it right away.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If conditions do not allow us to go out, the trip is postponed or cancelled, and we offer you another date or a refund of what you paid. The decision is made by the company or the responsible skipper.
Can I cancel?
More than 7 days in advance, the booking deposit is refunded in full. Inside those 7 days it is lost. Not turning up counts as a cancellation.
How old do I have to be?
18 to helm any of the boats, with or without a licence. Whoever is at the helm is responsible for meeting the legal requirements.
What do I bring on the day?
A valid ID card or passport, and your boating licence if you are going to helm a boat that requires one. The rest of the payment and the security deposit. Plus sun cream, a cap and something warm for the way back.
Can I bring food and drink?
Yes. We also put together drinks and snack packs if you ask in advance. All we ask is that you bring the boat back reasonably clean.
How late can I be?
Fifteen minutes at most. Beyond that we may not be able to run the trip as booked, and being late does not entitle you to extend the finishing time.
Where do we set off from?
From Palma marina, at La Lonja, and from Puerto Portals Nous. Each boat page says which one is its own, with a link to get there.
Send us the date and how many of you there are, and we will confirm availability.
